This is the second "housekeeping" post in only a few days. In the previous one (in which I strongly encourage you to follow me on LinkedIn if you don't already, as I publish some commentary only there), I mentioned that I'd have to switch from FeedBurner, a Google-acquired service that used to deliver email notifications of new FOSS Patents blog posts, to a new service.
I've chosen follow.it. You may already have noticed the new email sign-up area on the right-hand side.
Follow.it offers different ways of staying up-to-date on new blog posts, and they plan to add more.
a daily digest (similar to what FeedBurner delivered before),
individual emails (in which case you're notified of each post in short order),
a news page on follow.it's website,
an RSS feed, and
Telegram messages.
They also plan to provide smartphone notifications, which would be a great option to have.
All addresses of active subscribers have been migrated from FeedBurner to follow.it. The notification emails come with a link to confirm your subscription, and it's a good idea to do so, just so there won't be any misunderstanding as to whether you'd like to keep your subscription active.
